ROME, ITALY – These are interesting times in Rome as the Ministry of Culture of Italy has displayed the massive renovation of the vaults and corridors where gladiators preparing to fight awaited their fate. The works is a collaboration with Tod’s, an Italian fashion house.
Tourists will now be able to wander through the passageways on a wooden platform for the first time in 2,000 years, admiring the corridors and archways that connected the hypogea between the apartments where gladiators and beasts awaited their turn, before accessing the elevators that would hurl them onto the arena.
